A 4th Degree Black Belt in the art of Kuk Sool Won, Dong has been practicing for nearly 25 years under the instruction of 9th Degree Black Belt, Master Sung Jin Suh. SBN Dong has trained students of all ages throughout the Bay Area for the last decade. He has been honored with the Grand Champion Award at the World Kuk Sool Association Championships in 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2002. He has also received Gold Medals in Forms, Weapons, Breaking, Techniques and Sparring in the United States in 2004, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, as well as highly acclaimed awards in Korea in 2002 and 2013. For three consecutive years, SBN Dong received the Pacific Coast Grand Champion Award in 2014, 2015 and 2016.

Along with his passion for martial arts, he has been educating youth for over 20 years. He has worked as a counselor and program director in the Tenderloin District of San Francisco to help inner-city youth in the late 1990′s. He also toured with Kaiser Permanente’s Educational Theatre Programs, performing health education shows for over 200,000 students across Northern California.

He currently holds a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering and works as a Registered Professional Engineer with experience in business optimization, property management and land development.
